Privacy Policy

Effective August 24, 2026

Jasmine (“we,” “us”) is personal intelligence for your life. You start a live listen during ordinary moments — a walk, a meal, work — or type a reflection. Jasmine transcribes what it hears (you can fix the words first) and looks for patterns over time. This policy explains what we collect and how it is used.

Information we collect and how we collect it

  • Account information: the email address you provide when you create an account (and a password if you choose email sign-up — passwords are stored only as salted hashes). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address (and, when provided, your name) from that provider, plus a stable provider user ID so we can recognize your account on later visits. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
  • Voice recordings: audio from a live listen session you start and stop yourself (during a walk, dinner, work, and so on), or a typed reflection. The recording is uploaded so it can be transcribed into text; you can correct the transcript before it is analyzed, then the audio is discarded. Jasmine does not keep the audio file. Live listen records whatever the microphone can hear (including other people nearby); it cannot identify speakers by voice.
  • Reflection content: the transcript of your recordings, any text you type, and the analysis Jasmine derives from it — for example events, feelings, goals, lessons, and the names of people or places you mention.
  • Life signals (optional): if you connect Photos or Google Calendar, Jasmine stores summaries such as photo dates, coarse places, calendar event names, and (only if you turn on scene labels) short labels like “food” or “people.” Scene labels are derived from a handful of small thumbnails; the images themselves are not stored.

We collect this information only when you actively use the app (starting a live listen, typing a reflection, asking a question, or syncing optional life signals you turn on). Jasmine does not listen in the background unless you have started a listen session. Force-quitting the app stops it.

How we use your information

  • To transcribe your recordings into text.
  • To analyze your reflections and power the app's features: search, patterns, your personal operating manual, and answering questions about your own history.
  • To keep your data associated with your account so that only you can access it.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or track you across other apps or websites.

Sharing with a third-party AI service

To transcribe and analyze your reflections, Jasmine sends your voice recordings, transcripts, and typed reflections to OpenAI, L.L.C.(“OpenAI”) through its API. If you turn on photo scene labels in the app, Jasmine also sends a handful of small, low-detail photo thumbnails (not your whole library) so OpenAI can return generic scene labels. Those thumbnails are not stored on our servers after the request. OpenAI processes this content on our behalf and returns the results, which are stored in your account. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models. You can review OpenAI's privacy practices at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.

Before any reflection is sent to OpenAI, the app asks for your explicit consent and explains what is sent and to whom. Photo thumbnails are only sent if you later turn on scene labels. If you do not consent, your reflections are not sent to OpenAI. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. Our backend is hosted on Render, which stores your data on our behalf so the service can operate.

Data retention and deletion

Your reflections are stored in your account until you delete them. You can delete any individual reflection in the app, or use “Reset all data” to remove all reflections.

You can permanently delete your entire accountfrom within the app at any time (Home → “Delete account”). This immediately and irreversibly removes your account, all of your reflections and their analysis, and your settings from our servers. You can also email us at christian.phanhthourath@gmail.com for help.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored on our hosted backend. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, never in plain text.

Children

Jasmine is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
